Must-have Essentials from Jessica Graves of The Love List

The Love List was started back in 2005 back before “blogging” was even a thing. I saw Oh Joy and thought to myself, hey, that looks fun, think I’ll do that — and that was about it. I had no idea at the time where it would take me! – Jessica Graves

The Love List is a fashion lifestyle blog, so that helps it stand out in my mind. I always gravitate towards more classic, even preppy items. A commenter recently described the blog as Emannuelle Alt, W Magazine, and great music taste in a blender — I thought that was a great summation of what I’m doing, but we always keep our roots a little preppier. We don’t just do outfit posts or roundups, though we have both, I also work in music, essays, and lots of humor. I try to never take myself too seriously. I also really strive to keep the look and brand of the site fresh and ahead of the curve. I love to keep things clean and navigable.

2+7: Can you give us your “Love List” for this summer’s must have pieces?

1. Women’s Pleated Chiffon Tops – Old Navy – $14.99

2. This summer I am all about white! Even moreso than usual. I love + own Club Monaco’s Shelli shorts. In particular, I love the texture they lend to an outfit, and that the pockets are on the front — I hate bulky side pockets that won’t lay flat! Shelli Lace Short - $89.50

3. My go-to summer sandal is a classic — the K. Jacques San Tropez Picon. They go with everything and only look better with age. I’ve had mine three years now and they are buttery soft with a gorgeous patina. – Lagarconne – $223.00
